The Making of the Timeline
This timeline was a lot of fun to make. It allowed not only for me to visualize the material, but it also provides content for viewers that don’t require endless amounts of reading on their part. I found myself focusing at the beginning on the dates of when settlements began springing up. I think there is a lot more that I want to add still.
As I, myself, am a visual learner having this Timeline is something that I consider to be extremely beneficial. If possible I want to create a few different ones that can show more information about the treaties, the moments in which lands were taken from Native American tribes, and potentially one on the historical elements that are happening at around this time (such as: The American Revolution).
I think that it would also be beneficial with such a timeline to provide a text based document that brings all this information together as a whole. This would allow for me to present several different topic timelines with an overall timeline document that can further impact users of the website.
I did have some trouble finding images in some cases, but after some serious thought on what kind of images should the text go along with I was able to select images that made sense.
